English Site Opening

Since late October 2011, the ethnologist and historian Dr. Panagiotis Grigoriou, key investigator of the documentary “Khaos, The Human Faces of the Greek Crisis”, has created a blog dedicated to the socio-political and cultural analysis of the effects of the economic crisis in Greece, in which he informs us from Athens in the French language, about all the dramatic events taking place nearly every day.

Given the great interest in his blog, greekcrisis.fr, and in order to raise awareness in a wider English-speaking audience of the plight currently faced by the Greek people, we decided to focus our contribution by creating this new site.
Here, as well as the original texts in French, we will attempt to translate, where possible, some or all of his articles into English.

In this joint effort apart from my involvement as consultant and technical support for the two sites, I am joined by a group of Anglophone friends and colleagues, primarily from the Department of European Studies at the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland.

In advance, I would like to thank them, in the hope that their participation and the sharing of opinions will perhaps permit us, one day, to create a better Europe.
